WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Westfield State junior forward Jauch Green, Jr. (Cromwell/Hartford, Conn.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball player of the week for the third straight week.
Green averaged 27.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and three assists while shooting 57.6% (19-33) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Owls.
He scored 38 points, shooting 14-of-17 with nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in a 92-75 win over Pine Manor College. Green also added a 17-point, 12-rebound performance with five steals in a 73-62 setback to Springfield College on Saturday.
The men's basketball team as well as all of Owl athletics will be out of commission for the next week and a half, for the annual holiday break. Green, Jr. and the Owls basketball team will get back to work against Baruch on Friday, December 28 at the Woodward Center with action beginning at 2:00 p.m.
