Owls Grounded by Roger Williams, 5-0

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Roger Williams first-year Hannah Timbrouck (Kingston, N.Y.) scored a pair of goals as the Hawks beat Westfield State 5-0 on a Wednesday night from Bristol, R.I. The loss snapped the Owls three-game winning streak, dropping them to 3-2 on the season while Roger Williams improves to 4-0.

The Hawks opened the scoring three minutes in, with Kelly Doherty (Mansfield, Mass.) located Chelsea King (Schenectady, N.Y.) who connected to put take a 1-0 lead. Nearly five minutes later, Timbrouck collected her first of the night off a feed from Sara Carney (Franklin, Mass.) to give the Hawks a 2-0 advantage after one period.

Roger Williams found the back of the net twice in the second period, with Carolyn Bauman scoring the third Hawks' goal at the 23-minute mark, followed by Timbrouck's second at 29:22. Grace Rocheleau (West Hartford, Conn.) assisted on Roger Williams fourth goal.

The Hawks added a late fifth goal at the 55th minute off the stick of Doherty, giving her a goal and a helper on the evening.

Owls goalkeeper Paige Reisman (Milford, Mass.) (L, 3-2) recorded one save while Emma Gniadek (Worcester, Mass.) entered play in the second half, stopping four shots on net.

Westfield was held without a shot in the first half of the game, as Roger Williams finished the night with a 12-3 advantage.

Westfield State will travel to Bridgewater State for their next match-up in a Little East Conference game on Saturday at 3:00 P.M.
