Westfield, Mass. – Westfield State sophomore defender Bre Foley (South Hadley, Mass.) earned the Little East defensive player of the week after recording one defensive save to help the Owls preserve a shutout against conference rival Bridgewater State, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Foley and the Owls picked up their first win of the season by holding Bridgewater State to just nine total shots and six shots on net. Foley has started in three games for the Owls this season, adding a second defensive save to her season total.

Westfield State will look to continue their winning ways as the Owls host Rivier University tomorrow at 4:00 P.M. at Alumni Field in Westfield, Mass.
