Bowes Named Zag/NFHCA Scholar of Distinction

GILBERT, Ariz. — Westfield State senior field hockey forward Brittany Bowes (Leicester, Mass.) has been named as a Zag Field Hockey/ National Field Hockey Coaches Association Scholar of Distinction for 2018.

The Division III Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.

Bowes, a Movement Science major at Westfield, carries a 3.95 cumulative grade-point average.

Bowes totaled five goals and two assists for 12 points this season, ranking third on the team in all three categories as the Owls finished the campaign with a 6-13 overall record.

This year, 268 student-athletes have been recognized as Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction.
