GORHAM, Maine - Southern Maine senior Dorina Sirois (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy) scored two goals to lead the Huskies over Westfield State 4-1 in a non-conference matchup Saturday afternoon at Hannaford field.

Colleen Fellows (Auburn, Mass.) scored the lone tally for the Owls in the 21st minute of the first half to give them the lead 1-0.

After the Westfield State goal, Southern Maine would take over in the second half and score two goals in the span of three minutes from Abbie Staples (Alfred, ME / Massabesic) and Lili Kein (Westbrook, ME / Deering) to give the Huskies the 2-1 lead.

Shortly after, Sirois would tack on two of her own in the span of two minutes to put Southern Maine ahead for good, 4-1.

Southern Maine outshot Westfield State 17-6 in the game.

With the loss, the Owls drop to 6-9 while the Huskies improve to 7-7.

Westfield State plays again on Wednesday, hosting Castleton University in an LEC game at Alumni Field starting at 7:00 p.m.

Southern Maine hosts LEC conference rival Plymouth State at home with action beginning 7:00 p.m. on Wenesday night.
