WESTFIELD, Mass. – Westfield State senior running back Travon Holder (Hartford, Conn.) was named the MASCAC football offensive player of the week this past Sunday for his performance against Fitchburg State.
Holder rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns in the Owls 41-27 win over Fitchburg. The touchdown runs of five, 35, and two yards all came in the first half. He averaged 7.2 yards per carry in the win while adding one catch for 15 yards.
The Owls are back on Alumni Field Saturday for homecoming weekend against the defending MASCAC champion Framingham State Rams. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
