Title: Asst. Coach/Pitching Coach

Rob Hitt joins the Owls as pitching coach for the 2024 season, fresh off a six-year career in professional baseball.

Hitt reached as high as AA baseball, spending two seasons in Biloxi, Miss., as a prospect in the Milwaukee Brewers system.

He pitched for NCAA Division I Quinnipiac for three seasons before being drafted in the 24th round by the Brewers in the 2017 MLB draft.  He played in the Arizona Fall League for top prospects in 2019.

In five minor league seasons and 174 appearances, Rob posted an 11-11 record with a 3.81 ERA, a WHIP of 1.47, and a K/9 ratio of 9.0.  He wrapped up his playing career pitching Frontier League in 2023, where he was an all star, posting a 4-2 record with 1.26 era and a 0.94 whip.

At Quinnipiac he set the school record with 10 saves in 2016, and was an all-star in the summer Futures league in 2015 and the NECBL in 2016, and also pitched for the Bourne Braves in the prestigious Cape Cod League.

A native of Suffield, Conn., Hitt was an all-State player and set seven school records for wins, strikeouts, ERA and batting average, and was named the American Legion Zone 8 pitcher of the year two times.
