WESTFIELD, Mass.  – Westfield State University placed six players on the MASCAC All-Conference baseball team, headlined by outfielder Anthony Crowley (Bellingham, Mass.) who was named the league's player of the year for the second straight season.

Crowley was joined on the first team by shortstop Colin Dunn (Westfield, Mass.), outfielder Nick Martin (Shrewsbury, Mass.), and pitcher John Gegetskas (Windsor, Conn.).   Catcher Jake Gibb (Stoughton, Mass.) and utilityman Casey Boudreau (Shrewsbury, Mass.) were both named to the second team.

Crowley leads the Owls with a .396 batting average, nine home runs and 36 runs batted in.  He drew 36 walks as opponents worked around the Owls' big bat, posting a .532 on base percentage.   Crowley has set school records for career home runs and RBI.   He earned All-Conference honors for the third straight year.

Dunn has been a four-year starter at shortstop for the Owls.  He hit .331 with four home runs, four triples and three doubles, and leads the team with 37 runs scored

Martin, a sophomore transfer from Quinsigamond Community College, has had a strong debut season for the Owls while playing right field.  Martin is hitting .339 with five doubles, and two triples, and hit his first home run of the season in the MASCAC Championship game.   He's driven in 20 runs and drew 18 walks.

Gegetskas repeats as a first team all-conference pitcher.   He has a 6-3 record with one save, and has thrown five complete games among his 11 starts.  In 69 innings he has allowed 58 hits while striking out 83 and walking 21.  He has set the Owls career record for strikeouts, and is three strikeouts away from matching his own single season record set last year.   Gegetskas is now a three-time first-team All-Conference pick, being chosen as a freshman in 2016, and was the loop's pitcher of the year in 2018.

Boudreau has bounced back with a strong season after missing much of 2018 with injuries.   He's split time between the outfield, second base and DH for the Owls, and is hitting .348 with eight doubles, 20 rbi and 30 runs scored.

Gibb has been one of the top defensive catchers on the circuit, and is hitting .295 with four doubles and two home runs, and 25 runs batted in.  He has posted a .987 fielding percentage.

Westfield State has a 27-14 overall record under sixth year head coach Nathan Bashaw.  The Owls won the MASCAC regular-season and tournament titles, and will play in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season when they face #19 Ithaca College in a first-round game in the Union, N.J., Regional on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
