Lauren Thompson joined the Westfield State athletic department for the 2023-24 academic year, where she serves as a graduate assistant in the athletics department and as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball staff. Before coming to Westfield, coach Thompson participated in multiple summer leagues where she coached freshmen at nearby high schools.
Coach Thompson graduated from Howard Community College in 2016 where she played and captained the women’s basketball team for two years.
After obtaining her Associate degree, Thompson transferred to the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology and a minor in Nutrition in 2019.
In her graduate work coach Thompson studies mental health in athletes as she works toward obtaining her Master’s degree in psychology.
